The First Signs of Alzheimer’s Disease: Changes in Daily Routines
Alzheimer’s disease is a neurodegenerative condition that affects memory, thinking, and behavior. It develops gradually, and its early signs can easily go unnoticed because they often appear during simple, everyday activities—such as taking a shower.
In the early stages, a person with Alzheimer’s may have difficulty following the steps involved in washing. They might forget to turn on the tap, adjust the water temperature, or use soap. Sometimes, they hesitate to get into the shower because they no longer recognize the purpose of certain objects, like the showerhead or shampoo. These moments of confusion are often mistaken for mere distraction or fatigue.
