The Signature Dimple Step
Using oiled fingers, press deep dimples all over the dough.
These dimples:
- Trap olive oil
- Create texture
- Help distribute flavor
Pour the garlic-herb oil over the dough, letting it pool in the dimples.
Finish with flaky sea salt.
Baking the Focaccia
Bake in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for 20–25 minutes.
Look for:
- Golden top
- Crisp edges
- Soft center
If needed, rotate the pan halfway through for even baking.
Cooling (Yes, It Matters)
Let the focaccia cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
This allows:
- Steam to escape
- Crumb to set
- Flavors to develop
Warm is best—but slicing too early can make it gummy.
