Crispy Fried Fish Fillets

 Variation 1: Extra-Crispy Panko Fried Fish

Ingredients (changes only)

  • Instead of batter:
    • ½ cup flour
    • 2 eggs (beaten)
    • 1½ cups panko breadcrumbs
  • Season flour and panko with spices.

Instructions

  1. Dredge fish in flour → dip in egg → coat in panko.
  2. Fry at 350°F for 3–4 min per side until crispy.

This gives a lighter, crunchier Japanese-style crust.


 Variation 2: Beer-Battered Fried Fish

Replace the water in the classic recipe with cold beer.
Beer makes the batter airy and extremely crispy.

Instructions

Follow the classic method exactly. Use lager or pilsner.
